7 things about me

1) i’m from New Jersey

I've lived in California since 2008, but I am originally from New Jersey. I grew up up in northern New Jersey in a suburb of New York City. Usually when I tell people that I grew in in New York/New Jersey, I see a look come over them like yes, that tracks I choose to take it as a compliment. LOL

2) I started my photography career at 40 years old

When the pandemic hit and my job became work from home, I started taking online classes In the California community college system on Photoshop, lighting and other photography concepts. From there I continued and specialized in newborn and Pregnancy. I invested countless hours in in person, training and workshops to better and provide the safest and best experience for families as they welcome their newest members.

3) i work full time in addition to taking fabulous photos of your family

Some people come to a second career because they find something lacking in their initial career path. That wasn’t true for me. I believe it’s possible to love two things, What this means to you is that my hours are somewhat unorthodox I generally see maternity and pregnancy in the evenings, and newborns on the weekend at 8 AM and 10 AM. The benefit of this is that it will fit into many families already busy schedules.

4) I live in Palm Springs with my wonderful husband and two young boys

As you can, guess, that keeps me pretty busy. One of the reasons that I came to Photography as an essential part of who I am, is that I find joy and capturing the moments of our beautiful life together.

5) My other career is tax attorney

Wow, that's crazy! I often get the question what do the two careers have in common. The answer is: not much! But, at their core what they truly both bring to families is the concept of legacy. My specialty as a tax attorney is trust and estate work, which really focuses on what we pass on to our children and grandchildren as our legacy, Photography does the same thing. I'll be an elaborating on this in the future blog post.

6) I take philanthropy and giving back to the community Very seriously.

I'm passionate about putting back into the world more than I take from it. My particular choice in philanthropy is animal rescue, which I give back through active service, bottle-feeding orphaned, kittens and puppies, and pediatric genetic research. I believe in empowering women professionally and personally and am a vocal advocate for women’s rights.

7) did you hear dogs bark when you drove up to the studio?

Yup! Since your photos will be taken in a “home studio,” you’re coming into a home with non-human animal companions, sometimes a husband working, kids watching TV or playing or doing homework. However, the dogs are put into a closed room prior to any scheduled session, where they will stay for the duration of the session. We love our pets - you don't have to. Incidentally, the studio is a pet free zone out of respect for clients with allergies.
