Meet Melissa, Your Coachella Valley Newborn Photographer

I’m Melissa Winn—a mother of two boys and a photographer specializing in newborn, maternity and family portraits. I serve families in Palm Desert, La Quinta, Indian Wells, Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs and throughout the Coachella Valley.

Becoming a mother changed the way I see photography. I know how quickly those early days pass, and I also know how often mothers are missing from the photographs.

You deserve to be in the frame, too—to be remembered holding your baby, comforting your child and sharing the little moments that make this season so meaningful.

What I Want You to Feel

I want you to feel welcomed when you arrive, supported while we photograph and confident that you do not have to manage everything yourself.

I want the mother who feels exhausted to know that she does not need to look or feel perfect. I want the parent worried about a spirited toddler to know that children are not expected to perform. I want families to leave feeling that the experience was easier and more enjoyable than they anticipated.

Most of all, I want you to recognize yourself in your photographs—not as an overly posed or perfected version of your family, but as the people you are during a season worth remembering.

A Little More About Me

My life outside photography is full of the same beautiful chaos I document for other families. I am raising two boys with my husband, and our home includes a very well-loved collection of dogs and cats.

Motherhood has taught me that meaningful family life is rarely quiet, perfectly organized or camera-ready. It has also taught me that the ordinary things—a child leaning against you, a familiar expression or the way siblings reach for one another—often become the details you miss most.
